MATERIALS:

Cotton Worsted Weight yarn
Size G Crochet Hook
Gauge: 4 dc = 1"
Finished Size: 9" x 9 1/4"

Ch 36.
ROW 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across the row. Ch 4, turn. (ch 4 counts as dc, ch 1)
ROW 2: Sk 1st dc and dc in next st, *ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next st, rep from * ending row with dc in the 3rd and 4th sts of the turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
ROW 3: Work 1 dc in each dc and chain across. Ch 3, turn.
ROW 4: 1 dc in next 2 sts, *ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next 3 sts, rep from * ending row with ch 1, sk 1 dc, 1 dc in top of turning chain. ch 3, turn.
ROW 5: Work 1 dc in each dc and chain across. Ch 4, turn.

Repeat rows 2-5 3 more times. At end of row 5 do not ch 4. Ch 1 and do not turn.

EDGING: *3 sc in corner, work 2 sc in the end of each row, 3 sc in corner, 1 sc in each dc to next corner. Rep from* around. Finish off.
