       3      ounces        package berry blue or raspberry gelatin
       2      cups          boiling water
       2      cups          sugar
      46      ounces        pineapple juice
       2      liters        ginger ale
       4 1/2  cups          cold water
       1      cup           lemon juice
                            blue or red food coloring -- optional
                            fresh berries -- for garnish
    In large container, dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in the 
    sugar until dissolved.  Add juices, ginger ale, and water.  Freeze 
    for 8 hours or overnight.  Stir every hour so that mixture will be 
    slushy.  Yields: 5 quarts.

Set fruit aside and mix juice with pudding in small pot. Cook until smooth and thick. Cool. When cool, mix pineapple chunks, mandarine oranges, and as many cherries as you would like. Refrigerate. Just before serving, slice bananas and stir into salad.

Combine remaining ingredients to make dressing and pour over shell mixture. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
