Jump Rope Rhymes
These following rhymes I remember from my childhood. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
I Like Coffee
"I like coffee, I like tea, I like (name of next person in line) to come jump with me." Then the two jump
together, with the second person saying the rhyme. When the rhyme is finished, the first person runs out, and
the new person jumps in and will say the rhyme as he/she jumps with the second person.
For one person: "I like coffee, I like tea, I like (name of a person), and (name of same person) likes me. Yes, no, maybe so, yes, no, maybe so,..." repeating the "yes, no, maybe so until the jumper misses, having the "answer" on the miss.
Teddy Bear
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around," (jumper turns around)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground," (jumper touches ground)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, show your shoe," (jumper shows shoe)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, that will do!"
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, go upstairs," (jumper pretends to climb stairs)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say your prayers," (jumper pretends to pray)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn out the lights," (jumper pretends to pull light cord)
"Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say good-night!" (jumper finishes and exits - allowing the next to jump in)
