         1/2  medium        onion
         1/2  cup           quick oats
         1/4  cup           milk
       4      tablespoons   ketchup
         1/8  cup           chopped parsley
       1                    garlic clove -- minced
         1/2  teaspoon      salt
         1/8  teaspoon      ground pepper
         1/8  teaspoon      basil leaves
       1      ounce         sliced cheddar or American cheese
    
    Combine all ingredients except for cheese.  Put in pan and bake at 350 degrees 
    for 1 to 1-1/4 hours.  Top with cheese a few minutes before removing from oven

Cut in the 1/3 cup butter. Spread half of the mixture in an 8x8x2" pan and press firmly. Dot with the 2 tablespoons butter. Combine the sliced apples, 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon; spread these evenly on the oatmeal mixture. Cover with remaining oatmeal mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes, or unitl apples are tender. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Double the apples and sugar amounts if you want to make a fork dessert.

    * Exported from MasterCook * Beef Lasagne Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beef Pasta & Noodles Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 ounces package lasagne noodles 3/4 pound ground beef 2 cloves garlic -- minced 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves -- crushed 1 tablespoon parsley flakes 8 ounces canned tomato sauce 6 ounces canned tomato paste 3/4 cup water 1 egg -- beaten 12 ounces creamed cottage cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Cook noodles as package directs. Add cold water until noodles can be handled. Lift out; do not drain them. Meanwhile, lightly brown beef in large skillet. Add garlic, onion, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and 3/4 cup water. Simmer 5 minutes. Mix together egg and cottage cheese. In greased 9" square pan spread layers of one fourth meat sauce, half the noodles, on fourth meat sauce, half the cottage cheese mixture, and half the mozzarella. Add another fourth meat sauce, remaining cottage cheese and mozzarella, remaining noodles and remaining meat sauce. Bake in 350 degree oven 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Makes 6 servings. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : I usually double this recipe and put it in a 13 x 9" pan.

Heat cheese and sour cream til melted. Do not boil. In casserole, put toast points made from 2 slices of toast, a layer of broccoli and 4 hard-boiled eggs. Repeat layers. Pour cheese sauce over top and heat in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes

In medium micro-proof bowl combine sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. Microwave on high (full power) 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Stir in chopped almonds, cherries and almond extract. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Cover ;chill until firm. Cut into 1" squares. Store, covered, in refrigerator. Makes about 4 dozen squares.

Add cream of tartar and beat until stiff enough to hold peaks, but not dry. Fold in sugar 1 Tablespoon at a time. Add flavoring. Fold in flour mixture, one tablespoon at a time. Pour into ungreased tube pan. Bake in slow oven at 275 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes, increasing heat slightly when cake is almost done. Remove cake from oven and invert for 1 hour or til cake is cold. Remove cake with a broad-bladed knife.

Cover and simmer about 2 hours, until beef is tender. Discard bay leaf. Remove neck bones. Wash peas, and add to soup kettle; cover and simmer 20 minutes. Meanwhile, remove meat from bones. Cut up meat; discard bones. Add meat, potatoes, onion and celery to soup kettle, Continue simmering, covered, 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Makes 3 1/4 quarts. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Using the thrifty beef cut in making this soup provides good flavor, but you can use ham bone if you have one.

Cover and chill 2 hours. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring until salt dissolves. Pour over cabbage mixture; toss gently. Cover and chill at least 2 hours before serving. Will keep several days in the refrigerator. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.

Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add sifted four and beat again. Pour into an ungreased tin and bake at 325 degree oven for about 1 1/2 hours. Ad 1/4 of this to ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, onion salt, and parsley. Mix together and form small meatballs. Add more soup and water mixture if necessary to form meatballs. Brown in skillet. Add remaining soup. Cover, simmer 20 minutes. Prepare noodles according to package directions. Drain. Cover with meatball sauce and serve.
